Mike McConnell, Founder/Owner
My handyman experience started over thirty years ago - I paid for college by working in a large lumber yard & hardware store in the Midwest, and would often perform handyman tasks for the business and its customers. After moving to the West Valley to start a career in high tech engineering management, handyman work became my "hobby". I started buying and remodeling houses nights and weekends - it was good therapy to work with my hands after doing desk work all day. I carefully researched the techniques and building codes for every job, and learned the right way to do each task. Along the way I built our home in Saratoga, along with a couple smaller houses, helped friends with their construction projects, and maintained some income properties.
After taking early retirement from my engineering career, I created West Valley Home Repair. My goals are fairly simple - to satisfy my customers by providing quality craftsmanship at an affordable price.I am not interested in building and managing a large staff (been there, done that) - so you get the benefit of my low overhead and my personal experience on every job.
Aside from looking over a completed project, my favorite part of the job is working with a prospective customer to evaluate the options and trade-offs for meeting their needs and desires. So please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your project.
